Acceptable Use Policy

Effective Date: June 1, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes activities that are not allowed on the Conelo platform at https://www.conelo.co (the "Service"). It is incorporated by reference into the Conelo Terms of Service, and capitalized terms used here have the meanings given in those Terms.

The AUP applies to everyone who uses the Service, including Buyers, Experts, prospective applicants, and unauthenticated visitors.

1. Prohibited Content

You may not submit, post, upload, transmit, or display any content that:

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation.
  • Infringes any intellectual property right (copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret) or other right (right of publicity, privacy, contract) of any third party.
  • Is hateful, harassing, threatening, or designed to incite violence or discrimination against a protected class.
  • Is sexually explicit or pornographic.
  • Defames, libels, or otherwise harms the reputation of any person or organization.
  • Is spam, bulk unsolicited promotion, or chain communication.
  • Contains malware, viruses, worms, ransomware, or any other malicious code.
  • Is deceptive or fraudulent, including false credentials, fabricated case studies, fake testimonials, or impersonation of another person.
  • Contains personal data of another person that you do not have the right to share.

2. Prohibited Expert Listings

Experts may not list services that constitute the practice of a regulated profession unless they hold the required credentials in the relevant jurisdiction and include a clear, separate disclaimer that identifies their credentials, the jurisdictions in which they are licensed, and the limits of the advice they are offering.

Examples of regulated areas that require credentials and a disclosure:

  • Legal advice. Must be a licensed attorney, with the licensing jurisdiction(s) disclosed. No legal advice may be given outside the jurisdictions where the Expert is licensed.
  • Medical and health advice. Must be a licensed clinician, with the licensing jurisdiction(s) disclosed. Engagements may not include diagnosis, prescription, or any other regulated clinical activity.
  • Tax advice. Must be a CPA, enrolled agent, or attorney as applicable, with credentials disclosed.
  • Securities, investment, or broker-dealer advice. Must hold the relevant license, with credentials and any required regulator registration disclosed.
  • Immigration advice. Must be a licensed attorney or accredited representative, with credentials disclosed.
  • Any other field where the user's jurisdiction restricts the practice to licensed professionals.

If you are not appropriately credentialed in a regulated area, your Engagement listings must be framed clearly as general informational guidance, not advice, and must not invite reliance for regulated decisions.

Conelo may remove listings, reject applications, suspend accounts, or take other action where a listing appears to violate this section.

3. Prohibited Buyer Behavior

Buyers may not:

  • Circumvent the platform. Solicit an Expert to perform paid work outside the Service after the Expert is introduced through Conelo, for a period of 12 months following the introduction. The non-circumvention obligation applies whether the off-platform engagement is direct, through another platform, or through a related party.
  • Harass or abuse Experts, including through threatening, demeaning, discriminatory, or sexually inappropriate messages.
  • Request regulated professional advice from an Expert who is not credentialed to provide it, as described in Section 2.
  • Misrepresent identity or intent, including by using a Buyer account to scrape Expert profile information or to compete with Conelo.

4. Prohibited Platform Use

The following activities are prohibited for all users regardless of role:

  • Scraping, crawling, harvesting, or otherwise extracting data from the Service except as expressly permitted (for example, in accordance with our published robots.txt).
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any part of the Service, except where this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
  • Creating accounts by automated means, generating fake accounts, or operating an account on behalf of an unauthorized third party.
  • Sharing a single account among multiple individuals, or selling, transferring, or renting access to an account.
  • Using automation, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service without our prior written consent or a published API key issued for that purpose.
  • Circumventing or attempting to circumvent rate limits, the waitlist gate, paywalls, access controls, or any other technical or policy restrictions.
  • Probing, scanning, or testing the security of the Service or related infrastructure outside a coordinated disclosure process. To report a vulnerability, contact support@conelo.co (or support@conelo.co) and give us a reasonable window to remediate.
  • Attempting to access non-public surfaces, accounts that do not belong to you, or data that you are not authorized to access.
  • Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Service, including by sending excessive requests, exploiting bugs to gain advantage, or staging denial-of-service activity.

5. Reviews Integrity

The following review practices are prohibited and may also violate the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's rule on consumer reviews and testimonials (16 C.F.R. Part 465, effective October 2024):

  • Posting a review for an Expert you have not actually engaged with through the Service.
  • Buying, selling, exchanging, or otherwise trading reviews.
  • Offering or accepting any incentive (discount, gift, payment, credit, reciprocal review) in exchange for a review, unless the incentive is clearly and conspicuously disclosed in the review itself.
  • Review gating, which means suppressing or filtering out negative reviews while inviting positive ones to be posted publicly.
  • Posting reviews on behalf of someone else without disclosure, or on behalf of a competitor with intent to harm.

Violations may result in removal of the review, account suspension or termination, and where appropriate referral to regulators.

6. Reporting Violations

7. Enforcement

Conelo may, at our reasonable discretion and with or without notice:

  • Remove or edit content that violates this AUP.
  • Suspend or restrict account access.
  • Terminate an account or revoke Expert status.
  • Withhold or reverse payouts pending investigation, consistent with the held-funds and dispute process described in the Terms of Service.
  • Refer matters to law enforcement, regulators, or other appropriate parties.

We will terminate users who are repeat infringers, including repeat copyright infringers, in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. We will post the updated AUP at https://www.conelo.co/legal/acceptable-use and update the Effective Date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
